Carolina Surgical Associates has several surgeons on staff who perform breast procedures and surgeries, from minimally invasive biopsies to mastectomy and reconstruction. Patients with breast cancer are discussed by a multidisciplinary team comprised of the breast surgeon, surgical oncologist, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologist, pathologists and ancillary personnel at Bon Secours St. Francis Health System. This expert team discusses these cases and reaches a consensus as to the best approach to treatment before treatment begins. Our surgeons have access to the St. Francis Breast Health Center, which is nationally accredited by the NAPBC. At the Breast Health Center, the latest technology is available to assist our surgeons in properly diagnosing breast conditions and providing treatment. In addition, our patients have access to the Cancer Risk Screening Program (CRiSP) at St. Francis that provides genetic testing to determine cancer risk. Carolina Surgical Associates patients also have access to the cancer program at St. Francis, which has received the highest ranking from the American College of Surgeons' Commission on Cancer, and earned "commendation" ratings for all possible standards of the survey which examined the entire spectrum of cancer care, from prevention to rehabilitation and follow-up.
